ARTIST IN
RESIDENCE

Indian or International artists - photographers, visual-artists, researchers,
curators, conservators and multi-disciplinary artists.

FRAMEWORK

By Shazeb Sheikh (Residency Director)

To start a "Artist-In-Residence" program dedicated for the photographic and printmaking arts, fills an essential gap, especially in India and South-Asia. This program not only provides an ecosystem for such a practice, but also envisages a schedule of residencies throughout the year, taking on multiple threads to fulfil the larger objectives of Monad. This program also intends to make an exclusive practice available to many creative minds who may or may not be initiated into the world of actinic arts, giving this residency program a truly inclusive intent.

The residency enables a Monadic approach, combining the technical, practical, experimental and cultural aspects under one holistic umbrella. These key ingredients produce a different outcome each time they are combined together and this provides a playfield of creativity for artists to explore the mediums and express themselves.
